Tailscale Pet Packages

Post by artemis »

Tailscale is a service that handles connecting your computers together with a VPN protocol called wireguard. Basically you log in on your computers and tailscale figures out how they can talk to each other and establishes secure connections between them. If you ever used Hamachi before, it is sort of like a much better version of that! And you can link your networks with other people with access controls to configure just how linked they are. One thing I don't like is that you have to log in to tailscale with github, google, or microsoft as auth provider, instead of good ol' email + password, but that is how it is.

Anyway, here are pets for x86/x86_64/arm32/arm64. Pick whichever you need.

v1.28.0

How to use

  • Install the package

  • Reboot or run "/etc/init.d/tailscaled start" in a terminal

  • In a terminal, run "tailscale up"

  • Open the link it gives you

  • You will need to log in with github, microsoft, or google

  • You are done! Repeat on any other systems you want to connect together

  • Also you may need to edit your firewall to allow the tailscale port (default is UDP 41641) if you are running a firewall.

Try "tailscale help" for more info or read more over on the offiicial docs https://tailscale.com/kb/.
