PUDD - Error in all WoofCE PUP versions

Post by Clarity »

If one tries to complere the destination location screen to an empty folder by changing the filename, PUDD crashes. Tested several WoofCE PUPs and the bug is consistent across all.

Selecting PUDD's program via a PUP's desktop, startingfrom

  1. Menu>Utility>PUDD copy ...>Choose Drive>sda>Choosefile

  2. In this screen you navigate set path to destination folder which is empty

  3. Any attempt to click the filename entry CRASHES PUDD!

Just ran PUDD on JammyPUP from @Grey. PUDD does NOT exhibit the error. Maybe a newer release?

PUDD now moves to allow backup. Next screen summarizes as follows:

Code: Select all

Last chance to backout!
You have chosen to copy /dev/sda to destination /mnt/DellRich/Backups/Block-level/test-dir/Can-type_newfilename-without_crashing.img.gz

Here is what Puppy knows about /dev/sda:

--- /dev/sda
      o
      o
      o
      o
      o

I am NOT SURE which version this is NOR am I sure if in other PUP versions a PM replacement exist.

PUDD does NOT exhibit the error.

Seriously? Is something working there? I didn't expect it :)
Personally, I have never used PUDD. Thanks to your screenshot, I remembered what it looks like :)

Fossapup OS, Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, 64 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB, Sound Blaster Audigy Rx with amplifier + Yamaha speakers for loud sound, USB Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro V3 + headphones for quiet sound.
