Puppy wallpaper

Post by jp734 »

Good morning beautiful people. Just wanted to share my latest wallpaper. I must say, out of everything I've done so far, this is what I'm most proud of. Only uploading the wallpaper in case someone wants to use it.

Wanna make it part of an official puppy linux wallpaper that will be included on next release? It will be an honor :D

Thank you all and have a wonderful day!

Thanks bigpup.

I edited the wallpaper. Took another pic of the plant with a much better angle (in my opinion at least)

Wow! Thanks @rockedge

I've increased the dpi to 300 per inch but hardly noticed any difference. How large do you want it to be?

Hello @rockedge. This is now @ 2400 pixels/mm. I think this is the best quality I can ever produce. My challenge is the camera I used. If I need a better quality graphics, I would need to start something with higher res already and that means investing on better quality camera. Time to talk to the manager (wish me luck)

Or, rookie me just need to learn more tricks.

One thing I noticed though. This is a 400kB jpg file, but when I do a preview, it shrinks it down to 102kB. :?:

Okay. I just did a test. After I uploaded the 2400 dpi wallpaper and then downloaded it back to my computer, I opened the file and it's not the same quality as the original. Not sure how to uploaded it without getting shrunk.

@jp734 Looks good and I think we can work with the versions you have created. I will include it in the next round of alpha test versions

Placement of the plant, does make this a good background for Puppy.
Normal first boot is going to have all the desktop icons on upper left side of desktop.
The desktop drive icons have needed room to display along the bottom.
White colored lettering even show OK to read!
Very Good!!

Considering most backgrounds in Puppy Linux are small in image size and look OK when used.

100KiB is big in size.

The background changer program does a good job of adjusting image to give good looking desktop.

Using your image:

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o

More wallpaper (Sorry - Having too much fun with graphics :D)

https://ibb.co/86pJQPn

EDIT: Seems like images I've uploaded appear to be dark. I think it's because of the monitor I'm using working on the graphics. I just downloaded this same image using my laptop and it's really dark so I had to brighten it up a bit using GiMP and everything looks fine now (like how it should be) - My apologies.

Made some changes to the last wallpaper:
- changed puppylinux.com to puppy linux
- changed fast-simple-free to simple-fast-free
- put a "dot" separator between puppy linux and simple-fast-free
- made adjustment on lighting and shadow

https://ibb.co/Y7HKgYx (will be auto-deleted from their server in a month)

and as always...feel free to use it as part of the distro. FREE is part of the puppy linux slogan after all.
