@wiak I will definitely try sudo -u spot on the KLV's and try to make sense of what is happening since I didn't think that command would work as is. It's a very interesting find actually

actions were performed on KLV-Airedale Terrier-rc4.1
Finally, from the third time, it became clear to me how to properly make "pulseaudio-equalizer-gtk" work both in root and spot

1. On a clean install, log in as root
2. install pulseaudio-equalizer-ladspa ( without running it in root user )
3. switch to user "spot"
4. run pulseaudio-equalizer-ladspa from app>multimedia>PulseAudio Equalizer (enable button)
5 .switch back to user "root"
6 .find in /usr/bin/pulseaudio-equalizer line 10 and comment out #[[ $EUID = 0 ]] && { echo "This script must not be run as root!"; exit 1; }
PS. yes, and as @fredx181 already wrote, it's better to copy and place /usr/local/bin
7. run pulseaudio-equalizer-ladspa from app>multimedia>PulseAudio Equalizer (enable button)

after these actions, the equalizer works both in root and in spot
at least for me

In KLA that command doens't work. The one that does is:

Code: Select all

sudo -u spot -s

At least -s is in the man page...

Is KLV-Airedale-rc4.1 announced in its own thread?

The OP doesn't show: But I know how to get it from Smokey's site.

But I am missing the thread for vRC4.1 to post results. Should they be reported here?

Curious
