openssl 1.1.1n update

Post by 8Geee »

Slackware has issued an update to the 1.1.1 (Slack 15.0) and 1.0.2 (Slack 14.2) versions of openssl. As quoted from Slackware, the "bug" is rather bad as this function is used (with others) to create/solve encryption.

This update fixes a high severity security issue:
The BN_mod_sqrt() function, which computes a modular square root, contains
a bug that can cause it to loop forever for non-prime moduli.

Money talks... no, it shouts, so that it doesn't have to hear common sense.
