Forum login issue after forum URL redirected

Post by taersh »

Right now I tried to login. Usually the forum remembers me to login.
But this time it doesn't!
Instead of remembering me, a list with user names pops up to choose from.
This list contains user names that never have been used by myself and/or not my user names at all.
At least I can't recall being registered anywhere as makoto and/or jrb.

Edit:

Attached image removed because it was showing my email address.

@taersh ,

Moin Moin, There has been work done to redirect URL's. Try to clear all the browser's cache and login fresh using
https://forum.puppylinux.com. All of your bookmarks to puppylinux.rockedge.org will still work as expected.

This is to consolidate the domain names to a clear cut connection to puppylinux.com

Ok, I will check this.

But: how could it be that "makoto" and "jrb" are in my list to login?
I never used them nor did I try to login by using these names.

Edit:

Ok, the list is gone now. "Remember me" again works as usual.
Thanks!

Good question. That is strange and I'm not at all sure yet how that can even be possible. I will track it down and inform you when I have an answer.

Probably I should have tried to login using these user names, just to see if I can access the forum by their stored passwords? However, the list is gone now - at least I think so. When clicking on the item, only taersh appears now to choose.

@taersh

Wow!! I just was able to duplicate it! Not sure at all why this can happen yet. I had peebee and others listed so I clicked on peebee but fortunately no password was inserted.

I used Firefox 79 on a Bionic64-CE to login to this forum for the first time on this browser. I used the URL bookmark puppylinux.rockedge.org and I clicked on Login and on the login page as I hovered over the username field all these usernames popped up. Very strange. I am about to logout and login again to see what happens.

UPDATE:

It only occurred on the first login! Now it is normal again.

I'll head over to the software's forum and present it to the developers.
