Re: Whats up in Puppy World

Ok, you may have got some nice method. I'll wait till you tested that and explain more with details about what you did on a real live system to make it work, what you wrote seems just theory to me now :?
And comparing with TinyCore is dubious IMO.

Re: Whats up in Puppy World

Ok, but not an answer how you do exactly and if you tested on debiandog.
Sorry, but I think that you talk "easier than done", better come up with a real example that works.

Re: Whats up in Puppy World

in my opinion sfs files linked to a core are the way to go i have played with sfs files and symlinks for a long time you can symlink an sfs file to a root ramdrive ... no need for a layered filesystem though you can combine it with a layered filesystem as i will do with debiandog I don't understand...

Re: Whats up in Puppy World

fredx181 has made a "puppy" out of debian his build system is without equal let us adopt debiandog as our "puppy" and simply put puppy stuff in it Let's try to avoid now and forever the question "what is a Puppy", instead let's define "what is NOT a Puppy ?"....

Re: Whats up in Puppy World

Did you read the woof-CE README before you described woof-CE as complicated or messy? Messy ? Can't judge, probably not. Complicated ? Yes IMHO. I can easily understand that someone gives up already (to even start trying) while reading it, anyway, I personally do too, sorry. But of course, as with ...

No, not all, the cache in apt/archives (deb packages) will be kept if running more than once (all the other stuff in bookworm folder will be deleted though, to really start fresh)

Re: YRadio Internet Radio Player

@Majestic
Looks like just removing the --splitter option is the best, then works OK for me with Yad-GTK2 and Yad-GTK3 (tested also with different Yad-GTK3 versions).
Also changed the volume code, will use amixer if exist. Please test.

If no-systemd is a true choice (not out of laziness or short on development skills, or whatever) it is ok IMHO.
