pet and sfs are different ways to package software. A pet package is a Puppy packaging method to provide software to install into the Puppy OS. Download the pet package. 2GB of RAM is enough to operate with. As long as you only run one program at a time. I run Puppy Linux on computers with 2GB of RAM with no issues. But when I stop using a program I completely close it. Before starting another program. Never try to have more than one program running at any time. Thi...

I assume you are using BookwormPup64 10.0.6 Your image looks normal to me. Not really sure what you are talking about. The desktop tray is never going to be a high end graphics display. I have used Gparted to do this on SD cards. Use it like you would on any drive. Just be sure the SD card is what you selected to work on. Make new partition table (type msdos). This totally deletes everything on it. Partition and format as you like. Note: On a very new computer with UEFI bios. To se...

To make sure the USB is truly not needed anymore. After it fully boots to the working desktop. Look at the desktop drive icon for the USB stick and make sure it is not indicating it is mounted. How much RAM is in this computer? The ability to be able to remove a USB drive you are booting from, depends on having enough RAM, to completely load the BookwormPup64 OS into, and still have enough RAM to do stuff. The boot process checks this and may not let all of the OS load into RAM. (default i...

Re: Can files be transferred from an ext4 drive to a FAT32 drive without file corruption?

Under Linux everything is a file including symbolic links. Fat32 can not handle symbolic links. If an application employs a symbolic link, transferring it to a Fat32 partition will break it. This is why a save file can work placed on a fat32 format location. A save file is a Linux file system insid...

Re: Can files be transferred from an ext4 drive to a FAT32 drive without file corruption?

If the fat32 format is already fragmented. Fat32 format's file system can fragment over time. Fragmentation is when a files data is not in a continuous location. Parts of it are in different locations, thus fragmented. Files could be corrupted, when placed on a fat32 formatted partition if fragmente...

If the save file is stored on a partition formatted fat32. The max size a save file can be is 4GB. That is the max file size for fat32 format. You can keep from putting everything in the save file.
