Filemanager / packers in Kirkstone

Post by ca119 »

I miss some filemanager and packers in Kirkstone easyos.
I LOVE TOTALCOMMANDER for windows ..... it has all I need!

Well DobbleCommander looks OKay ... but I never manage to get it to work with RAR og ZIP files (klick and you can get inside the archive)

I have was able to install MidnightCommander and ROX-file manager on my EASYOS 16GB pendrive.

My problem .....
I downloaded a PDF-file packed with rar. SO HOW TO READ IT / UNPACK IT???

Someone can get me step by step.

Unfortunally NOR DobbleComander (or simular 2 window manager) or PEAZIP is ready for install in the "apps" in easyos?!?

PEAZIP would at least helped me .... or somethink like that.

Have you tried "Gnome Commander"?
It is in the repository, click on "pkg" desktop icon, then "PKGget"
You can find it by typing "commander" in the search box.

For .rar files, there is a binary installed, 'unrar'
Type this to see its options:

Code: Select all

# unrar --help

Try the following steps: open Midnight Commander, navigate to the RAR file.
Press F2 and select "Extract compressed files to subdirectories" (the PDF file will be extracted to a new directory) and open the new directory and double-click on the PDF file.

If Midnight Commander doesn't work, use the unrar e filename.rar command in a terminal window.
