Can't Change icon Theme [SOLVED]

Good morning!
Trying to change the icon theme. I click on Change Appearance icon (also tried it from terminal running lxappearance), then Icon Set. When I select an icon theme in the list (it does show the themes I installed) but it doesn't change the theme and just restarts the window manager.

What am I missing? Suggestions?

I can change the theme by manually editing the desktop.conf file and saving it. But was hoping there was a more streamlined method.

Menu --> Desktop --> JWMDeskmanager

click on Icon Theme there are several listed and at the bottom access to more themes.

Which icon themes have you installed? Post screenie of Icon Switcher window?

The code is at /usr/bin/lx_icon_switcher

Maybe run:
gtk-update-icon-cache /usr/share/icons/*

p.s. JWMDeskmanager does not apply in LXDE.....

That works for jwm but this is LXDE desktop in this category, so it is a different one.

That lx_icon is the new one and for some reason all it does is restart x.

I went to this site https://packages.debian.org/buster/amd6 ... e/download and downloaded the deb file, used pextract and opened and saved it as a dirrectory, changed the name of the bin application to lxappearance_old and changed the name of the desktop file *_old, then ran dir2pet from terminal and installed the old (lxde standard) lxappearance (now as lxappearance_old) and ran petget to install it like normal pet files.

Now I have the standard to LXDE appearance changer and icon theme exchanger. I put a link on the desktop.

Now when I run it i can change the icons fine.

A work around but that should do it for me.
