ibus32_1.5.19-en-zh-bionic-120.2.8.deb (ibus input platform)
scim32_1.4.18-en-zh-bionic-120.2.8.deb (scim input platform)
yong32_20201122-en-zh-bionic-120.2.8.deb (yong input platform)

b. Chinese language debs:
BD32_ob_jwm_20200629-zhcn-120.2.8.deb (Simplified Chinese)
BD32_ob_jwm_20200629-zhhk-120.2.8.deb (Traditional Chinese)

3. makelive_sid script (20210729 -64bit) to produce iso with a choice of chromedog, mate or obdog desktops
a. half-Chinese language debs:
fcitx64_4.2.9-en-zh-bionic-121.2.5.deb (fcitx input platform)
ibus64_1.5.19-en-zh-bionic-121.2.5.deb (ibus input platform)
scim64_1.4.18-en-zh-bionic-121.2.5.deb (scim input platform)
yong64_20201122-en-zh-bionic-121.2.5.deb (yong input platform)

ibus32_1.5.19-en-zh-bionic-120.2.8.deb (ibus input platform)
scim32_1.4.18-en-zh-bionic-120.2.8.deb (scim input platform)
yong32_20201122-en-zh-bionic-120.2.8.deb (yong input platform)

b. Chinese language debs:
DD32_sid_mate_20210729-zhcn-120.2.8.deb (Simplified Chinese mate desktop)
DD32_sid_mate_20210729-zhhk-120.2.8.deb (Traditional Chinese mate desktop)
DD32_sid_obdog_20210729-zhcn-120.2.8.deb (Simplified Chinese obdog desktop)
DD32_sid_obdog_20210729-zhhk-120.2.8.deb (Traditional Chinese obdog desktop)

Functions:
(A) the half-Chinese language debs will enable you to display and input Chinese in the appropriate DebianDog systems

(B) the name corresponding Chinese language debs will give you Simplified Chinese (zhcn) or Traditional Chinese (zhhk) menus, icon labels, tooltips for the applicable DebianDog system. Please note that all Chinese language deb rely on a suitable half-Chinese language deb already installed to the system (see section A above)to provide Chinese input platform and Chinese fonts. Otherwise the system cannot input Chinese and display Chinese (shown as squares).

Usage:
A pdf user guide has been written with more information about these debs including how to download and use. This file is written in English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.

Hi,
This is really great work. Thanks.

What do I need to get Simplified Chinese going on my debiandog (2020-04-29) and in Palemoon please?

Code: Select all

root@lapdoglen:~# uname -a
Linux lapdoglen 4.19.0-9-686-pae #1 SMP Debian 4.19.118-2 (2020-04-29) i686 GNU/Linux

I guess it might be this 2a + 2b I need ? It is the nearest I can see to my system.
BusterDog-openbox_jwm-2020-06-29_32-bit.iso

I have Chinese routers so I need to display Chinese language when setting them up otherwise the characters display as blocked squares on the Palemoon browser screen.

System: Fanless PC DebianDog Buster Frugal

If you just need to display Chinese language and do not need to input Chinese, you can add a Chinese font file to /usr/share/fonts or /usr/share/fonts/TTF

There are many Chinese language font files on the internet, the one I use is wqy-MicroHei.ttf.

I had tried to test my Chinese language debs on the debiandog (2020-04-29) system to see which one is suitable. Unfortunately I cannot find the iso file for debiandog (2020-04-29).

I follow this link https://github.com/DebianDog/BusterDog/releases and found 4 32-bit isoes:
BusterDog-openbox_jwm-2019-11-03_32-bit.iso
BusterDog-openbox_jwm-2019-12-28_32-bit.iso
BusterDog-openbox_jwm-2019-12-29_32-bit.iso
BusterDog-openbox_jwm-2020-06-29_32-bit.iso
plus one that has no 32/64 bit:
busterdog-repo.iso
None of them are 2020-04-29? Am I missing something?
