Pango is a library for laying out and rendering of text, with an emphasis on internationalisation.

Pango can be used anywhere that text layout is needed, though most of the work on Pango so far has been done in the context of the GTK widget toolkit.

Pango forms the core of text and font handling for GTK.

Pango is designed to be modular; the core Pango layout engine can be used with different font backends.

Client side fonts using the FreeType and fontconfig libraries.

Rendering can be with Cairo or Xft libraries, or directly to an in-memory buffer with no additional libraries.

Always liked Opera's GUI. I suppose it's OK for general web-browsing. But don't trust it's FREE VPN. Your content is encrypted from your computer to Opera's Servers and from those Servers to their destination. But at the Servers the company can act as 'man in the middle'.

VVenC
, the Fraunhofer Versatile Video Encoder, is a fast and efficient software H.266/VVC encoder implementation with the following main features:

Easy to use encoder implementation with five predefined quality/speed presets;
Perceptual optimization to improve subjective video quality, based on the XPSNR visual model;
Extensive frame-level and task-based parallelization with very good scaling;
Frame-level single-pass and two-pass rate control supporting variable bit-rate (VBR) encoding.

Usage:
https://github.com/fraunhoferhhi/vvenc/wiki/Usage

vvenc-1.11.0- the Fraunhofer Versatile Video Encoder
https://www.mediafire.com/file/oenaljyl ... 0.pet/file

What the heck is H.266?

H.266 (also known as VVC) is a video codec. Codecs are software that compress and decompress video files so they can take up less space when stored on a hard drive and less bandwidth when transferred over a network, among other things.

According to BBC R&D (via Extreme Tech https://www.extremetech.com/extreme/312 ... towards-8k), H.266 can shrink files to 50 percent smaller than what the current H.265 can achieve, without affecting video quality to a noticeable degree. In other words, a 10GB video encoded in H.264 shrinks to a mere 2.5GB—still a big chunk of space, but manageable—when you encode it with h.266.

This incredible reduction in file size will do a lot to help playback and streaming of 8K HDR video content on future TVs, smartphones, and other devices. After all, a typical 8K HDR movie could eat up anywhere from 6GB to 20GB per hour if you were watching it on Netflix today. Shrinking that figure down to one-half or one-fourth means more movies and fewer data caps to worry about.
