I am using Bookworm, on an old Dell with 4 gb. I'm trying to get a fileserver on my network and trying to figure out how to get Samba running. It has a CL function, so I typed in Samba, and it took the command, but gave no info. In addition, in the File Manager, I can get it to off the Network in the places tab, but it tells me that it can't support that function What can I do to get this to find my fileserver, and share files to it?
How to access network file server in Bookworm?

Re: file manager
Are you trying to setup a file server in Puppy linux, or trying to access files in another server already running?
Check if you have a "Samba Simple Management" item in the apps menu, in the NETWORK sub menu. I'm not sure if BookwormPup has that application. One click, Samba is running. Another click, Samba stopped.
Then, you have to setup your firewall and permissions to allow access to your folders.
For sure Bookwormpup users will know better. I run mainly Bionicpup.
