Only tested with the inbuilt HTML5 & JS player.

I have installed this from @Jasper .pet. I've tried it on both the "full" fossapup 9.5 and fossapup 9.5 mid2 with similar results. I've mainly tried the UK section of the menu and I get mixed results. Some work well others don't work and cause continuous spooling and others give an error message (please see image (1)). The ones I've tried so far which work I've saved to favourites (please see image (2)). I've also tried using the minimum resolution to stop the spooling issue but it seemed to have no effect. I am wondering if others are having similar experiences and if so has anybody found any solutions.

IPTV streams can change, therefore you need to use an updated list to ensure that the link is working.

If you look at the *.m3u file, some of the links may indicate that they come from a private server and not a public one. Also, check to see if these streams are "geo blocked" ..... are you using a UK based DNS server? Turn off VPN's and change your DNS server if your using Cloudflare etc

Using the inbuilt HTML5 player (it's a web based browser) may mean that the codecs are not available. If in doubt drag & drop the URL into mpv or vlc to see if it is functioning correctly.

Also, trying looking for different sources for streams eg https://www.lyngsat.com/stream/ ..... "Google is your friend in this instance"

There are plenty of private/pirate IPTV providers on the web/social media that provide subscription based services.

If in doubt drag & drop the URL into mpv or vlc to see if it is functioning correctly.

I've opened the playlist.m3u8 file and tried the above with mpv. So far I have not managed to get a single url to work. After the drag and drop of the url onto mpv about 10sec or so passes then mpv shuts. I have done this before with radio urls which works. I have used both Yradio and SimpleGTKRadio and know the urls go out of date and have to be updated. I'm now wondering if the playlist.m3u8 supplied is out of date. I also use Global_IP_TV_Panel and know that this requires periodic updating.

Browse to https://iptv-org.github.io/ and go down to the UK icon and expand the contents.

On the right hand side of the screen it will tell you if a "Stream" is available.

When you see "Guides", this will show you the sites that broadcast the stream. It could be UK or EU .... rest of the world. This usually means that you need to have an account with the provider.

For example 4Music has a stream available to everyone as well as 5 additional hosts which require an account/subscription to view.

Thanks to @Sofiya for providing an up to date list for you.

You will have to hunt around for updates to ensure that all your favourite channels continue to work.

As you will have realised by now I don't know what I'm doing. Is there a way to make this list into a playlist acceptable to IPTVnator? I don't need the station icon stuff etc.

Thanks for your link. This is a massive file to work my way through to find the UK relevent stuff. As said above I don't really know how to use this in IPTVnator.

Edit: Using the first list format which is the same as the format I've used with radio urls in simplegtkradio I made a playlist.TV file and placed it in
/root/.config/simplegtkradio/playlists. it shows as in the image below. Double clicking on any of these plays the TV channel.

Thanks for the Play-list-UK.m3u8 file. I've installed it in IPTVnator as a second playlist (please see image below). It works fine though I still get a bit of spooling that I don't get when running directly in mpv. Perhaps my machine is not well enough specified. It's an old dual core, 8GB ram with an ssd.

To test them I dragged and dropped the urls onto mpv i.e. in the first on the list I dragged

The first four on this list all have a similar url ending in index.m3u8. Is the "index" part of the url significant here in that does this suggest this is some kind of index rather than a TV stream?
In the second set of four the urls do not end in .m3u8. Does this prevent them being played in mpv. I would have thought this unlikely but I don't know. The last url does not seem to have either of these issues yet does not play. Can I ask if anybody residing outside the UK would be good enough to try these and see if they work for them. If they work for you, but not me, it would suggest being in the UK might have something to do with the problem. If anybody in the UK would try them and got them to work it would suggest that the problem was at my end. If nobody gets them to wotk then it might be that they simply don't function.

I have both installed. yt-dlp is dated 30.12.2023 so I guess it's up to date. yt-dl is also installed but is dated 6.6.2021. I attempted to update it via a terminal but failed. Output is shown below.

root# youtube-dl --update
ERROR: can't find the current version. Please try again later.

I'm not sure if I'm using the correct code or if this is the latest version. Hope this helps.

Attached a few playlists I have downloaded. Many items should play as is with SMPlayer for example. Note - some take a bit of time to load, be patient.

I've tried unzipping FewPlaylists.7z using both pExtract and uExtract without success. I've also tried removing the .7z thinking it was a "fake" then opening with a text editor again without success. I think I must be missing something. Can you tell me how to open this file?
