QuickLinks search options

Post by greengeek »

Sometimes I want to find information that I have seen in the past and it could be on the current forum, or it could be on the old forum - I just don't remember.

When I look at the QuickLinks options I see the Magnifying glass icon alongside the "Search" label - but it only gives me the forum search function and to be honest that seems quite limited (I probably don't know how to use this function very well...)
Here is the URL: https://www.forum.puppylinux.com/search.php

This is what I see:

.

But there are a couple of other options that I believe should be added to the QuickLinks.

My preference is rockedge's search function:
Here is the URL:
https://rockedge.org/psearch/

This is what it looks like:

.

The other option is a "pSearch"
I really don't know where this fits in terms of the search hierarchy - but it can be useful.
Here is the URL:
https://psearch.puppylinux.com/

This is what it looks like:

.

I would like to see all of these urls in the QuickLinks list.
Any chance that links could be added to help people find things more easily?

Maybe they could be added to QuickLinks as:
pSearch (general Puppy search?)
rSearch (rockedge search)
fSearch (forum search)

Hi @greengeek,

what you call psearch and rsearch is basically the same, delivers the same results from old and new forum and is located in the "Links" section (right next to "Donations") - named "PuppySearchEngine".

fsearch in the "QuickLinks" - is the php_search_function and brings only results from the current forum database. I - like you - do not use it - because @rockedge's search functions are much better (they use google).

peace
