Downloaded and QEMU booted via ISO file
Last download version still listed as 812:
https://distrowatch.com/table-mobile.ph ... ion=fatdog
Where did you see the 813 download? @Clarity
The ISO does exist http://distro.ibiblio.org/fatdog/iso/. Must be a stealth release. Maybe checking to see who is paying attention.
Hello @Neo_78 and you can see the 'announcement' on the left column of this webpage under its ISO list. If you click on the Fatdog version #, you can obtain a copy of the new version.
And as you have noticed, if you click the FATDOG name in that list, on the resulting page v813's contents are not present...yet. Thus, you will have to read its README after booting.
I hope this is helpful
I have booted it bare-metal today via its ISO file in BOTH Ventoy and SG2D without any issues in its operation. All behavior is exactly what a frugal users expects without issues.
I did notice an anomaly in session-save to folder where the 'base' for the "multisession" failed in writing to disk while its subsequent companion was written without error???
I tried in VBox and both file were created successfully. Was it one-time occurence or is it reproducible?
There were no changes in multisession/savefile departament whatsoever, as far as I know.
Greetings!
Hi @JakeSFR. There is something happening and I believe it may be environmental in my case.
My boot stanza addition via the FD boot Menu is savefile=ram:multi:label:Persistence:/Sessions/
for a pristine boot.
I am still researching and will respond as I get a better handle on my preliminary observation.
I will report subsequent observations on the 'official' FD v813 thread.

Clarity, in this post JakeSFR gave you that boot stanza addition but also advised you that, " it's still kinda incorrect, because the last chunk (/Sessions/) should actually point to an SFS file within that directory, not the directory itself. "
HTH
dell optiplex 990 desktop with nvidia gt 1030 card
I did frugal install --> opened ISO and took vmlinux and initrd out
When I booted I could only get a low resolution screen
I used xorgwizard and tried to increase resolution, but only lower resolutions are offered.
I have nvidia gt 1030 card so I tried a couple of nvidia SFS packages , they would load but I couldn't get xorgwizard to
recognize them. (I used control Panel to choose video driver but no luck)

My blender 3.3 appimage wouldn't work because opengl version wasn't high enough
With fatdog64 v812 I didn't have these problems.
I think the basic problem is the driver. In Easy Linux it installs nouveau driver automatically
during boot if it thinks that a nvidia card is available.
Probably new linux kernels do this because so many laptops now are using nvidia 1030 chip to accelerate graphics.

Correct!
But, I found that the current session is saved "within" that '/Sessions" folder and also discovered, on subsequent reboots. Not sure if 'multi' session-saves are handled different to save-file/save-folder in FD v8xx.
Thanks as I appreciate the help you and others have helped us observe and report.
