Unable to install from remastered iso

Post by je55eah »

Some files are missing when installing a remaster based on a remaster.

Yesterday I booted fatdog and created a remastered iso by referencing vmlinuz and efiboot.img which were on the virtual disk. (I think it was called dm-01 or something) Then I used the UEFI installer and referenced the same files as well as the remaster.iso.
I took the newly created usb drive and booted it on another machine. I installed some updates and then created a remaster. This time there was no virtual disk so I copied efiboot from the other disk and used that. Finally, I tried to use the UEFi installer again. This time it didn't work. The error indicates that some files are missing. What have I done wrong?

Afditionally, I have been reading the manual and I would prefer to use the installation method that works with uefi and bios. How do remastered iso files work with that?

Can I make a remaster everytime I install or update software and treat the iso like a backup?
