Method Borrowed From FatDog to create WDL32 on a USB Drive

Post by rockedge »

An interesting method borrowed from
viewtopic.php?f=60&t=1151
http://distro.ibiblio.org/fatdog/web/faqs/usb-boot.html
to install WeeDog32-Void-2.8 is detailed here:

I downloaded your WeeDog32-Void-2.8 published a week ago and added it to a
Toshiba 16 GB USB (3.0) stick created using the method
from Fatdog64-811 described in the included help file under

How to install Fatdog64 to a flash drive that works for both BIOS and UEFI
machines

The USB has four labeled partitions
ESP 16MiB vfat
OS 6.0Gib ext3
NotOS 7.0GiB ext3
WINCOMPAT 1503MiB vfat

The OS partiition holds the following directories; dpup-stretch75k41956,
Fatdog64, lost+found, precise-light, WeeDog32-Void-2.8
as well as the files; fatdog.png, grub.cfg and terminus24.pf2

The entry for WeeDog in the grub.cfg file is
menuentry "WeeDog32-Void-2.8" {
linux /WeeDog32-Void-2.8/vmlinuz-5.9.16_1
w_bootfrom=LABEL=OS=/WeeDog32-Void-2.8 copy2ram forcepae
initrd /weeDog-Void-2.8/initrd.gz
}

I have successfully booted booted WeeDog32-Void-2.8 using this USB stick in
this computer using either UEFI or BIOS.
I have not yet done much more than launching the text editor.
