QGIS and pupx on Kirkstone 5.2

Post by hway212 »

Hi there
A little history first. I have been a long time user of puppy (Puppy2 2006??) and followed mainly Barrys versions up to and including Kirkstone 5.2. I am really grateful for the OS and all the help I have gleaned from the forums so thanks to all but especially Barry.
Sorry my head doesn't work in a way that i can contribute much as i could never get my head around scripting etc partially due to time constraints.

I was wondering if anyone has an SFS of a recent QGIS that will work on this latest EasyOS version or the possibility an AppImage being added. It is one of the few things I use Win-doze for and would love to have it working on Easy. I have tried to create an SFS but failed miserably.

On a minor point can the mouse acceleration be set to max for my trackball and stick as I have tried doing it for a session and saving but it always seems to revert back to 2?

Thanks in advance if anyone can help

I see that QGIS is available as a Flatpak:

I'm thinking of supporting Flatpaks in Easy, but probably not in the next release, which will be 5.2.1.
Perhaps it will be in 5.2.2.

Hi Barry

Just wanted to thank you for making this possible.

I have been trying out the QGIS Flatpak and it works well.

Very well actually.

I have QGIS on two works machines, one through a server which is predictably slow but usable. One on a good I7 laptop that is quick.

I also have it on my home machine and it is also quick.

On installing the Flatpak on my home machine I was blown away by how much quicker it appears to be than anywhere else.

Thanks Thanks Thanks.

Chris
