devx in container: what about the file system?

Post by Berto »

Hmm... I never tried it, but I'm thinking: If I install devx- into container, how the f* would it correspond to the main file system???

Same like Sakura ... How?

Well this is just a theoretical question .. I don't need this feature.

I've successfully compiled the very old (but nice) pycad... but in main file system... Why and what for there's the option to do it in container?

Sorry, I don't complain - I just want to understand
..
Thanks so much for your answers

It wouldn't, and that is the point of containers. Reduces the risk of you from borking your system with iffy or incomptible software. If it is ok, you can copy it into the main system afterwards. I have used the devx in a container, but tend to install it in the main filesystem.

@Keef

Thanks, okey ... I didn't think about that. But this is a real good reason.
