Hm...

I am now in Easy OS and write now out the pre installed Firefox browser. My keyboard is not correctly installed although I did made the step to install my variant (us intl. with dead keys) after being in the system.

Internet wired works.

How did I reach this stage:

  • in Dpup Buster XFCE4 from josejp24 (I am using daily not all the time, but really daily since it did be published and where I have the comfort, of different keyboards I REALLY NEED, it is the reason because I MUST use Dpup Buster daily :welcome: : us intl, in, in tam, kor ! to commute I only have to hit both CTRL+MAJ together)

  • I did download the new EasyOS *.img and

  • insert an old SD Kingston USB card into the adapter and the addapter itself into the USB slot

  • open the xfce4-terminal

  • enter the command

Code: Select all

dd if=/root/Downloads/easy-6.0-amd64.img of=/dev/sdX status=progress

(ATTENTION, pls adapt sdX!)

and restart

my PC is prepared to restart from USB memory.

this works, the very frugal menu appears and I only did have to do answer right and was soon in EeasyOS for unique time use, where I am now.

The cursor keys don't work properly in Firefox in the editor of that forum.

I will now try EasyOS installer!

this was not possible. the most transactions block! it was not possible to reboot or shutdown properly. I am back now in Dpup Buster 32 and write out Seamonkey 2.53.17 or 18 (I don't remember any more)... All works, you are in the frugal system after a few second!

frugal install of Easy

Post by don570 »

If your computer has grub already installed...

try a frugal install to a ext4 partition. Very simple.
UExtract should open the image in most puppies.

Hi @BarryK
I've noticed your work on packaging for forum use and EASY specifically. Thanks, as this model could be used in the future for other package managers as the realm of distros expands on the forum.

I also, note, that some of PUPs PETs have caused some problems: namely your blog on those with naming problems.

I ask:
Would you test the PETs @ETP has been maintaining for many years. They are effective and useful for services and productivity. None of his are large and they are found on the forum here.

Looking forward to the results of both this work with PETs and your work in producing distros via the upcoming WoofV.

Thanks Barry for all you do.

I have been using ETPs Global IPTV (which is built-in since EasyOS v5.0) found in multimedia; the 2 pets (Multi-ling start-up note and multi-TV display) are fine on EasyVoid 6.0.1. :thumbup2:
