dropped wireless on reboot with savefile

Post by mmmrr »

hi folks.

i'm trying out fossapup64,
booting a live dvd into a dual core imac.
wireless connected without a hitch.
i made a savefile, on one of the harddrive
partitions. when i restarted from the dvd
the cosmetic changes i'd made appeared.

not the wifi connection: when i tried the internet
connection again it only showed the ethernet but not the
wireless, which it had had shown on first run.

existing os on computer is precisepup571 32-bit
the precisepup wlan0 setup is
module wl pci Broadcom802.11abgn
the network wizard has no listing for wl
says wl cannot be found in /usr/lib/modules

cheers, mm

thanks ozsouth,
i'll try yr suggestion when i'm back in fossapup.
i'm having issues with the dvd/firmware re booting
and/or ejecting.

latest is no longer booting then blocking
all other boot options while dvd in compu. solution was to
change to apple keyboard, hold down the eject button as soon
as computer was turned on. after a short wait the dvd emerged.

i have booted into the frugal precise on the same machine,
as usual no delay. it's 32 bit, machine is 64 bit [2007 imac].
i'll save yr info to a place on the hardrive which i can reach
from the fossapup, if/when i get it booted again.

that may be a while because of booting issues.
thanks, mm
