Re: Inspired By Something that Makes Sense here's F96-CE_5-alpha3

OK, on this test PC, I have found that I have overlooked this message in the past. It also appears when booting BookwormPUP64 v10.0.6. I'll need to check the other distros that have booted and saved their sessions on this rig. Its a old Xeon with 2 80GB SCSI HDDs setup back in the day when Windows w...

Re: Inspired By Something that Makes Sense here's F96-CE_5-alpha3

Thanks ozsouth After reading your find, this now has me questioning what exactly is the 'true' problem. I have sessions on the Persistence that dates back to Feb,2023 with sessions from Fossa, BKW, Fatdog, DevaumPUP, VoidPUP, KLs etc. Now, I am unsure how to proceed while protecting the integrity of...

A lot of real-time system behavior is reported via BTOP if available and added during GIT builds. Also, TLDR is welcomed for easy command use answers, again, if available during builds. Results of booting and operations in a VM posted here F96 v5a3.jpg . This is merely a comment to be helpful. If it...

Hello Manessa :welcome: Sounds like you may be a Computer Science student or just new wanting to learn how Linux distros behave. Thanks peebee . I feel you are correct as this occurs when the distro is in control after its own Menu processing. Not sure which option in the kernel-build is the culprit. BUT, I dont run traditional frugals. ISO boots with persistence are the frugal I only used for last 5 years. Thus no extraction...

Hello wizard . Nice report showing your findings. I am assuming your PCs must be 2011 or newer. Few Questions Is your new card plugged into a X1 slot or an X16 slot? Did the card indicate its power needs and did that addition impact the power envelope of the PC(s) power supply? I am led to believe t...

BTW: I did verify the checksums to be sure I had good downloaded ISO files for each v420 distros. Later

BUG Found The very last utility screen gives instructions on which button is required to complete your desire: namely "Yes" or "No" If you select Yes your remaster ISO is created as you would expect. BUT 'No" ALSO creates against your desire. Remaster(3).jpg Remaster(4).jpg

The 'blame' for this ease of use is attributed to 1 of these 3 people: rockedge , radky , or amethyst ; Why am I saying blame, you might ask; because there are 2 utilities in the BKWP64's Menus: namely one in Setup and one in Utility. Re: Why do XFCE/GNOME/KDE/... keep RAM idle?

Yes. 2006 is when all manufacturers were instructed (rather mandated) to release x86-64 PCs with a 'standard' minimum of 1GB. All manufacturers adhered to such although some Ma & PA PC shops at that time did not; to reduce user costs along with their 32bit sales.

IN agreeing with what members have shared, I ask the OP @nassen0ff, why choose Puppy versus the other non-PUP distributions dedicated to that very design you ask. The community does not have a distro that is dedicated to your need.

I probably should have qualified this to 64bit PCs as RAM was standardized in 2006 as well as UNIX/Linux use of SWAP on the system drive. I am referencing the plethora of DEs used across the forum and the Linux spectrum which distributes them. This is not addressing the WMs which are a subset of som...
