I don't use a save file/folder and when booting a pristine distro there isn't yet a save file/folder anyway. i asked because i have the Aspire one 722 with the c60 chip and for the first 7 years of its life it ran at 1000mhz (same as the c50)...

STRICTLY FOR TESTING and only if the installed pango is giving you problems.
Here is pango-1.42.4 compiled from source in FossaPup.
Restart X after installation to see the changes
In my brief test it does remove the hyphenation effect of names in ROX

thanks !..... added to fossapup repo

Re: Acer netbook with 64 bit Linux versions freezes on Internet

@stevie pup As mentioned in my earlier post, the 64bit distros I tested so far leave little RAM on my Acer netbook. Heavy use of the browser can quickly fill this RAM, leading to system freeze. I'm currently testing slacko64-8.2 on my Acer Aspire One 722. Yes, this is a alpha release and some wrink...

hi @donkes12

this may be because pango has dropped support for some fonts ....

Hey. I'm the former co-founder of the official Puppy Linux chatroom and was involved when we migrated it to Freenode (after it was integrated into the old forum) more than a few years ago. My nick expired for non-use and, from what I hear, it seems something similar happened with the other co-found...

hi JASpup in rox-filer options (right click on an icon>>rox-filer>>options>>menu) you can choose the terminal. usually it's set to defaultterminal so that it is the same as global default terminal set in menu>>setup>>defaults. urxvt can be customised with menu>>utility>>urxvt terminal control

Re: Fossapup64 Builds Not Really 100%?

when i get a bit of time i will look into recreating fossapup in the new woofce .

this could also be an update! if so, what would you like to add/change in fossapup?
for me i would be adding pulseaudio, as a lot of steam games now require it.

Re: Warpinator and Fossapup - has anyone managed to make them friends?

hi @Grey

comment out lines 24-27 of /usr/libexec/warpinator/warpinator.py

Code: Select all

Don't let warp run as root
#if os.getuid() == 0:
# print("Warpinator should not be run as root. Please run it in user mode.")
# sys.exit(1)

the tray icon appears then but didn't get any further

here is the pet file that i believe caused the problem XFCE-4.12r6b.pet

no wonder that broke fossapup. it contains lots of old libs, old /etc/profile & old /root/.xinitrc. if you want xfce install from the PPM.

glad you fixed it
