Re: QEmu guide - Windows 10 - how to install and run it on Easy

What kind of hardware do you need to make this fast enough to be usable? I would say that: if using a cheap but modern laptop, it will run slow but not slow enough to be considered unusable. if using an average powered modern laptop, it will run astonishingly well, so well that one may forget to be...

Re: How to share a folder in qemu?

@vtpup Hi, for EasyOS I have already detailed the procedure. But not by using AQEmu or any other GUI, just the command line. It works both for Windows 10 and Linux distros, but the procedure may vary according to the guest operating system you are willing to install. This should also work for Window...

Re: Puzzling bug booting EasyOS from USB stick

Yes. To point out the situation jet better, you will for sure kmow about the Apollo 13 odissey. When they arrived to the moon, they were off-course. So, for correcting speed and direction they used the landing engine of the lunar module to slow down. As we all know, it worked. That's exactly what we...

Re: Puzzling bug booting EasyOS from USB stick

Desktops usually have an internal cable which connects the USB headers on the motherboard to the physical ports on the front of the case. This cable introduces latency, and there may also be electromagnetic interference. So make sure to connect your USB stick directly to the motherboard (on the back...

Re: X won't start in new Laptop (Intel Iris XE integrated grapics) Kirkstone64 5.7

This sounds really strange. I also have an Iris Xe laptop (Tiger Lake) on which I've been running Easy 3 years long now without any sort of problem (Dunfell first and Kirkstone later). Did you disable secure boot? Which video chip was using the old laptop? Please make sure that secure boot is disabl...

Re: How to compress files in Easy?

As explained here: https://www.forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?t=10049 the best way is to simply use X-Archive , by simply installing the package p7zip , which you'll find on the repository using PKGget . Barry has kindly taken care of compiling it and adding it to the repo. On that thread there'...

Re: Barry's accident yesterday; Surgery on thumb

Of course it isn't necessary. One is famous for his mind, not because of his physical aspect.
Mine was just curiosity, because you know: usually famous people / vips are easily recognizable:

  • Bill Gates
  • Steve Jobs
  • Linus Torvalds
  • Ken Thompson
    etc...

Re: Barry's accident yesterday; Surgery on thumb

Ouch, luckily that was not too bad. A couple of years ago I built my sim-racing setup and I also had to do a lot of DIY craftsmanship work on it. I also had to drill holes (16 holes) on a 3 mm thick aluminium plate. Never ever underestimate the dangers of working with metals: it is so much harder th...

Really strange, I started a KLV-Airedale as root then logged out and logged in as spot and the same results! The flatpak runs flawlessly on Void Linux with musl, runit, pipewire, KDE Plasma and kernel 6.6:

Therefore, the issue should not depend on the version the kernel.

I tested the AnyDesk Flatpak. In Easy 5.6.5 it launches, not in easyvoid (as @Federico said)

What? Where did I say that? You probably misunderstood something. Easy 5.6.5 IS Kirkstone. I said exactly the same as you: it runs on EasyOS 5.6.5 and does not on easyVoid.
