No need for that because xfce menus automatically populates desktop files from XDG_DATA_DIR folders. Just add categories on /etc/xdg/menus/xfce-applications.menu file

How should I proceed to use the included firmware on couple PCs I have with nvidia adapters. Neither PC has any Intel graphics on their motherboards. What I mean is where did you put your puppy files. Did you put at the root of the usb thumbdrive? If yes then try to remove the "pmedia" boot parameter in your bootloader config
