Bluetooth not showing on Buster

My huawei tablet seems to think it needs bluetooth as well as wifi to transfer files from my PC. What do I need to do to get this going please? I have installed wliwifi hardware package and rfkill which reading online, appears to be what I need. Then I installed the Bluetooth meta package. I have re...

Re: networking and two-routers question

A host connected to router #1 does not automatically get access to a host on the LAN side of router #2, regardless of what routes the first host sets up. I think this is my mis-understanding. So, thank you for that explanation. So, I have reconnected the ethernet from Router #1 to one of the 4 LAN ...

Re: networking and two-routers question

Sorry, I thought I had answered but maybe the ether swallowed it up. You can have computers connected to router 1 have router 1 assign IPs in 192.168.0.x range and You can have computers connected to router 2 have router 2 assign IPs in 192.168.1.x range But the connection between router 1 and route...

Re: BusterDog - Missing Message Window in Geany

The case of the missing Message Window... I have found what caused this. There was no way I could find a 'handle' to pull up the message window at the bottom of the editor window. It just was not there, and now I realise why. I looked in /root/.config/geany/geany.conf for items which referenced the ...

Re: WiFi static IP address, no /etc/interfaces[SOLVED]

Thanks Fred, I will give it a try and come back and report what happened.

So, using /etc/frisbee/wpa_supplicant.conf attaches to the WiFi router and using /etc/frisbee/dhcpcd.conf hands out the IP addresses
Yes, this seems to have fixed it. That's great. Thanks.

Re: WiFi static IP address, no /etc/interfaces [SOLVED]

On my Debiandog there is nothing(much) in the /etc/network/interfaces file. I am used to adding stuff to /etc/network/interfaces file and this is what all of the searches seem to do. However, obviously this way of doing things is no longer the right way. In my /etc/network/interfaces file there is n...

Re: networking and two-routers question

I have played around a little more and found a translation app on my tablet which works pretty well. What I have come to understand is that in my case it seems I have to have a different IP sub network on each router. So my Router #2 stays at 192.168.0.1 and ISP Router #1 stays at 192.168.1.1 I dont...

# hwclock -w (will update the hardware clock to the date in system clock)

Re: Raspup 8.2.1

I have just had this same problem with palemoon where every single https:// page would report the certificate was bad.

The solution WAS a time correction BUT the date had been reset to 2013 for some weird reason, so...make sure the year is correct as well. :-)

Re: networking and two-routers question

OK, thanks. I definitely have a problem with the way I have configured my routers because in my head I am thinking that I want devices attached to the second router(192.168.0.1) to have addresses in that range. So, both ARE trying to assign addresses in their respective ranges of IPs via DHCP. The s...

Internet works fine. I have one other router(192.168.0.1) connected to the first router by ethernet but I canno...

Yes you are both probably right in that I should upgrade to a later version and reinstall all the packages I have downloaded. I was hoping to put it off a while longer but there are bits and pieces not working now and so it is about the right time.

Thank you for your input and help.

I use Rox filer and yes, thats what it shows. I have not changed the fonts (not sure where to do that).
