Re: Do you prefer Firefox or Chromium as the default browser?

Most recently I have mainly used Firefox. When EasyOS made Chromium the default browser I decided that in EasyOS I would use Chromiium. About 2 weeks ago I installed Firefox, as Chromium was misbehaving for me lately. I would vote for Firefox as the default browser included with EasyOS. Thank you. ...

Re: Versionot Control seems not to be working

To test I expanded the initrd and changed the line of code as above. I created a dummy third release and sfs components for 5.5.3. I recompressed the initrd, checked that the depth was still 2. On reboot the additional 3rd release was still present. So, I still have an issue with deleting old versi...

Re: Versionot Control seems not to be working

(Easy 5.5.5) In /usr/local/easy_version/easy-version-control the variable DEPTH_MAX that stores the choice of depth is not initialized at the launch of the program. It's the value of this variable that is written in /var/local/version-history-depth when Easy Version Control is closed. So if you ope...

Version Control seems not to be working

Following on from this thread regarding freeing up USB space, https://forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?p=102952#p102952. In my case it's not about freeing space on a USB drive, but about using Easy Version Control to remove prior versions from my internal NVME drive. A couple of months ago I moved...

I scanned and connected to earphones, with working sound. This was an install which was originally created with 5.5.1 and was update...

It will work in list view, but can be a little fiddly. If you get the pointer between the files and it stays as an arrow (not a hand with pointy finger) then you can drag and select.

Thanks, I am using a laptop, which using a touchpad is probably making it more difficult.

In Windows as well as linuxes with double-mouse-click to execute (e.g. Lubuntu) to selecet multiple files you can left click on the first one to select it and then you click on the last file with SHIFT and all these files are selected. Do you think it will run any Puppy version and give good results?  :)

It might be a bit of a strain...better make sure you add plenty of RAM, you'll probably need at least 32GB or maybe 64 :?

My experience is the complete opposite of your experience. On laptops with HDMI connections, sound defaults to HDMI as Card 1. Even if HDMI not used, the internal speakers are not default. Sound has to be directed to the internal speakers.

Governor maybe this will help. The tilde ( ~ ) character is an abbreviation which is used to indicate the users Home directory. In the example of being the user root, /root can be subsituted with ~. Where a non-root user is the user the tilde would substitute for '/home/username' . So, ~/Downloads ...
